Sheila Ridgway is widely known throughout Washington for her complete understanding of probate law and litigation procedure, including the use of alternative dispute resolution techniques such as mediation and arbitration.
Ms. Ridgway is a frequent speaker at state and county bar events on probate issues, and has served as the chair of the King County Bar Association's annual Probate Litigation and Ethics seminar since 1998. She currently serves on the Litigation Subcommittee Washington State Bar Association's Real Property, Probate and Trust Section. This committee is charged with updating and improving the Trust and Estate Dispute Resolution Act (TEDRA), the law that governs trust and estate litigation throughout Washington.
Lisa Gafken has practiced exclusively in the area of trust and estate litigation, probate and guardianship since 2005. She also is experienced with matters involving the protection of vulnerable adults. Prior to going into private practice, Ms. Gafken served as an Assistant Attorney General with the Washington State Office of the Attorney General, where she gained valuable litigation experience. Like Ms. Ridgway, Ms. Gafken is also an invited speaker at continuing education seminars on probate and fiduciary matters. In addition, Ms. Gafken has experience using mediation to resolve matters.
